PLAY; "Aap ka matlooba number doosri line pay masroof hai" - A Review

As someone who loves going to the movies and would rather binge watching whole seasons of my favorite shows; I’d still never been to a stage play before. Despite the popular opinion and the recent revival of theater in Pakistan, I found it hard to take out time for the off-screen, live performances. So when I got a rare chance to attend one and heard rave reviews for the play Aap ka matlooba number I decided to check it out once and for all.

This play has been produced by the very talented and successful producers Ovais Mushtaq, Hassan Jawad Rana, M. Atif Siddique and Mohammad Bin Baseer. M. Atif Siddique and Hassan Jawad Rana are also the script writers for the play. The play has been produced under the banner ALL4ONE Pakistan; production house that brought us two major films like JANAAN and PARCHI.

So with relatively high expectations, I went to watch the play "Aap ka matlooba number doosri line pay masroof hai".

"Aap ka matlooba number doosri line pay masroof hai" turned out to be a light, engaging romantic comedy that had me hooked from the beginning till the end. From stellar performances from the whole cast, to the humor infused perfect script and almost natural and easy dialogue delivery; everything came together like a well thought-out masterpiece! It was the most delightful way to spend two hours full of entertainment and laughter, while the time seemed to pass-by in a matter of minutes. The visionary director and his talented team deserves applause and standing ovation for paying attention to details; from the impeccable set to something as insignificant as the characters clothes that seemed to gel with every character perfectly.

The play stars the very talented actors Mariam Saleem, Affan Mir, Salmaan Shaukat, Zenia Abid, Marjan Fatima, Omar Abdullah Khan, Moid Aslam, Israr-ul-Haq, Bushra Yamin, Sanwa Ali & Anas Khalid. It’s playing in the F 9 auditorium at 7 pm everyday till the 14th May, 2018. If you are a fan of theater and a supporter of performance arts, this is one play you cannot afford to miss!
